Tech

The tech headlines you missed (or need to see again)...

Bard - Google's ChatGPT rival "Bard" is better than ChatGPT as it offers an integrated and free internet search feature, unlike ChatGPT which requires a paid subscription for accessing internet search beyond 2021. I’m now using it over ChatGPT, and I think you should be too. LINK

iMac - The iMac is now 25 years old. LINK

Immersive View - Google announced a new feature to Google Maps called “Immersive View” that allows users to preview a route through a realistic 3D animation. Here’s a demo. LINK

Harry Potter - A study found that AI models like ChatGPT have memorized many copyrighted books, including JK Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter. This makes it hard to test the cultural analysis skills of the models because they naturally perform better on books they already know. LINK

Jobs - AI will create more software developers, not less. LINK

AI Chatbots - Many people say that AI chatbots are not the future, and I’ve been convinced that they’re right. Here’s why. LINK

Watchlist

Startups and companies I’m keeping an eye on…

Self-Completing To-Do List - Spellpage is a to-do list that completes items by itself using AI. LINK

Youtube - Nearly half of YouTube’s US viewing is now on TVs and not on mobile devices or computers. LINK

Fun Fact - Oxford University is older than the Aztec Empire. Yeah, I didn’t believe it at first either. LINK
